2023: Review of the Year
As the year draws to an end, we've been reflecting on the work the LionHeart team has done to support surveyors and their families all over the world.
Once again, we're proud to say that we've helped more people than ever during 2023. Helpline calls have risen by another 14%, we delivered 1,400 hours of counselling and sent grants to 20 different countries, helping more than 200 families in need.
LionHeart's support services manager Bena Kansara said: "Some of the people we've been supporting have experienced some of the hardest challenges life can throw at them - from bereavement to serious illness, job loss, family breakdown and other heartbreaks.
"I'm so proud of the difference my team of support officers and counsellors have made to these people. We may not be able to solve all of life's problems but what we hope is to make sure that no surveyor feels they have to face them alone.
"From organising grants to counselling, coaching, and support calls, the team has helped in literally thousands of different ways. In fact, we're on track to have increased the number of 'acts of support' we've carried out by over 25% this year."
Next year LionHeart marks its 125th anniversary but we couldn't do what we do without the support of so many people. We end 2023 by thanking all of those who play such an important role in LionHeart: our trustees and ambassadors, corporate and education partners, and the many thousands of supporters, donors and fundraisers from the RICS community around the world.
Happy New Year!
