World Mental Health Day 2021: Join us online
LionHeart will be running a programme of online webinars to mark World Mental Health Day this October.
RICS professionals all over the world are being invited to join the sessions, which will run across two days on October 8th and 11th.
They will include mental health awareness and wellbeing sessions as well as some panel discussions and personal experiences from a number of the LionHeart mental health ambassadors. The ambassadors are all RICS professionals who have first-hand experience of having suffered with mental health issues and now volunteer their time with LionHeart to help raise awareness, inspire and encourage other people to seek help.
World Mental Health Day has been marked globally every October 10th since 1992, with the aim of educating, raising awareness and tackling social stigma. This year's theme is Mental Health in an Unequal World.
Jo Grant, LionHeart's wellbeing project development lead, said: "More than one in four of us will be affected by mental health problems at some point in our lives and, although so much progress has been made in tackling stigma, we will continue to work to raise awareness until asking for help for mental ill health becomes as second nature as seeking advice for physical illness.
"We have a varied programme on offer to mark World Mental Health Day and hope to welcome RICS professionals from all over the globe to join us. Once again we are indebted to our amazingly brave and professional ambassadors, who give their time to share their stories and experiences in the hope it will help other people realise that it is possible to move on and thrive following mental ill health - and that support is there to help them do just that.
"The last 18 months have placed many of us under huge emotional strain and so we feel it is more important then ever to highlight all the ways we continue to support the surveying community. We hope as many of you as possible will join us for all or part of the programme."
