How firms are helping LionHeart
LionHeart’s very existence is down to a small handful of chartered surveyors who established an independent charity to look after their own back in 1899.
And we wouldn’t be here, more than 125 years later, without the generosity of individuals and organisations that donate to support our work - knowing that those donations are still ‘supporting their own’, just as our founders intended.
There are so many ways you can help us be there for the people who need us, including getting your employer involved! Whether you work for a large organisation, one of our corporate partners, or an SME, there are lots of different ways you, your colleagues and your employer can help LionHeart to help you.
Here are some examples of how you could encourage your employer to support us in 2025:
Fundraising at events
We’ve enjoyed attending a number of events and conferences recently, including those of Gateway, Surventrix and LGSS, to speak about LionHeart. Many supporters have also chosen to donate quickly and easily via our contactless machines at these events, with some firms generously matching the funds raised too! We’re always delighted to raise awareness of LionHeart’s services, and very grateful for any donations generated as a result.

Encouraging individual donations
As more firms join the corporate payment scheme, LionHeart is unfortunately missing out on thousands of vital donations because those employees no longer get the opportunity to donate each year during the RICS subs process. Some of these firms have kindly reminded their employees about this and encouraged them to consider donating to LionHeart via our website or via a JustGiving fundraising page set up by the firm. We’ve been grateful to our friends at Connells, LSH and Quantem for supporting us in this way recently.
Making corporate donations
We’re lucky to have a number of firms and organisations who have generously supported us recently with corporate donations, including Gold Crest, e.surv and LSH. Some choose to make a monthly donation and others donate each year. Regardless of the amount or the frequency, we’re so grateful for these donations which show the value these firms place on their relationship with LionHeart and the work we do to support the profession.
Taking part in fundraising challenges
We love it when firms and organisations create their own challenges to raise money for us. The events and activities people organise vary hugely. Many firms love the team-building element that a fundraising event brings, along with the benefits to the physical and mental health of employees. This month e.surv have been working hard to journey 2025 miles whilst raising money at the same time. Take a look at our Fundraising Guide for inspiration!

Donating client account money
Donating your residual client account money is a legitimate and safe way to ensure you meet RICS regulations and, at the same time, support LionHeart's work. We’re so grateful to the many companies who choose to do this each year. We have sufficient safeguards in place to guarantee that we will be able to reimburse you and offer an indemnity for all donations of this nature, irrespective of the amount. This type of donation is an important part of our fundraising and we’re extremely grateful that so many firms choose to donate in this way.
